Rhinoplasty

A nose that suits your face
and still breathes well

Rhinoplasty by an ENT surgeon specialized in facial plastic surgery. We assess both shape and breathing before planning. Semi-open rhinoplasty is done at the clinic under local anesthesia and you go home the same day; open rhinoplasty, using ear or rib cartilage, is done in hospital.

Form & Function

Why have rhinoplasty
with an ENT surgeon

Your nose shapes your facial proportions and is also your airway. A surgeon who looks at both helps you get a result that looks good and works well for years.

01

Outside and inside

Every case includes endoscopy of the septum, nasal lining and nasal valve before surgery is planned.

02

Breathing is part of the plan

If a deviated septum or swollen lining is found, the doctor plans treatment alongside, or refers you when surgery under general anesthesia is needed.

03

Designed for your proportions

We assess bridge height, the nose–lip angle and balance with your forehead and chin for a natural result.

Who it suits

  • A low or flat bridge, wanting more facial definition
  • An undefined tip, or wanting to refine the tip
  • Wanting your nose to balance with your chin and lips
  • Previous rhinoplasty you would like revised (assessed individually)

Wait, or tell your doctor

  • Still young, with facial growth not yet complete
  • A current cold, sinusitis or nasal infection
  • Smoking, and unable to stop for at least 4 weeks before and after surgery
  • A bleeding disorder or anticoagulant use
Techniques

Semi-open or open: how they compare

We offer two approaches. The doctor chooses based on your nasal structure, skin thickness and what you want to change — no single approach is best for everyone.

Materials

Materials we use

Medical-grade silicone

Bridge implant

Used for the bridge in semi-open rhinoplasty and carved to fit your nasal structure. The product is Thai FDA-registered and verifiable.

Ear cartilage

Conchal cartilage

Taken from behind the ear, with the scar hidden in the crease. Used to cover or shape the tip and reduce pressure on the tip skin. Used in both semi-open and open rhinoplasty.

Rib cartilage

Costal cartilage

Used in open rhinoplasty in hospital for strong structural support — suited to short noses, tips needing support and revision of previous surgery.

ADM graft

Acellular dermal matrix (Megaderm)

A processed tissue sheet with the cells removed, used over the bridge or tip to add soft-tissue thickness and reduce the chance of an implant edge showing in thin skin.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How are semi-open and open rhinoplasty different?+
Semi-open is done at the clinic under local anesthesia, using a silicone bridge with ear cartilage at the tip, and suits less complex changes. Open uses ear or rib cartilage to build the nasal framework and is done in hospital; it suits short noses, tips needing support and revision surgery. The doctor recommends an approach after examining you.
What is the follow-up schedule?+
Stitches come out at 2 weeks, then reviews at 1, 3 and 6 months and every year after that, checking the wound, shape and breathing. If you notice increasing pain or redness, fever, or a colour change in the tip skin, contact the clinic before your appointment.
Does rhinoplasty under local anesthesia hurt?+
You’ll feel some discomfort while the local anesthetic is injected; after that the area feels numb. Pain after surgery is mild to moderate and controlled with painkillers.
When can I go back to work?+
For non-physical work, most people return within 1–2 weeks. Stitches stay in until about 2 weeks, and some mild swelling or bruising may remain.
I already have a blocked nose. Can I still have rhinoplasty?+
An ENT doctor first looks for the cause — such as a deviated septum, allergy or sinusitis — then plans for both shape and breathing.
When will I see the final result?+
Most swelling settles in 2–4 weeks, but the shape stabilizes at about 6–12 months, especially at the tip.
What if I’m not happy with the result?+
We recommend waiting at least 6–12 months for the tissues to settle before considering revision, unless there is a complication needing prompt treatment, such as infection or skin thin enough to show the implant.
I had rhinoplasty elsewhere. Can it be corrected?+
Often yes, but revision is more complex than a first operation. Send photos and details of your previous surgery for an assessment first.
